Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fabricator & Mechanical Fitter to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and attention to detail. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your welding expertise, particularly TIG welding and sheet metal fabrication, within a dynamic environment. The ideal applicant will possess strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand tools and power tools, and a solid understanding of basic maths for measurements and calculations. Responsibilities
- Perform TIG welding on various metals, including sheet metal, adhering to technical specifications and safety standards.
- Fabricate components by cutting, shaping, and assembling metal parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues with equipment or components during fabrication processes.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specifications and standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Assist in the assembly of fabricated parts into final products or structures as required.
- Operate various fabrication machinery safely and efficiently.
Requirements
- Proven experience in TIG welding, with a strong understanding of welding standards.
- Scissor Lift
- CSCS Card
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
- Knowledge of sheet metal working techniques and materials.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and quality control purposes.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality assurance.
- Relevant certifications or training in welding or fabrication are advantageous but not essential.
