Job Title: High Risk Supervisor
Overall Purpose: To assist in the smooth running of the High Risk department
Reports to: High Risk Manager
Hours: Monday to Friday; 2pm - 10pm
Main activities:
1. Respond to appropriate instructions from High Risk Manager & SMT.
2. Organise daily work schedules, including allocating staffing & tasks effectively throughout the High Risk department.
3. Act as a key link between management and staff by communicating objectives, updates, and expectations clearly and effectively.
4. Support the onboarding of new employees, deliver ongoing training, and mentor team members to enhance skills and performance.
5. Motivate and support team members, updating staff and communicating objectives and expectations clearly.
6. Identify talent within the team and support career progression through coaching and development opportunities.
7. Liaise with Product Preparation Team Leaders regarding ongoing targets, performance, and any issues impacting output or quality.
8. Liaise daily with the Thermal Processing Team Leader regarding cooks and blast chilling operations, ensuring cooking schedules and temperatures align with production plans.
9. Liaise daily with the Product Packaging Leader/Operator ensuring product specifications are met and at the standard required.
10. Liaise daily with the Labelling Room Supervisor/Team Leader to ensure correct labelling, compliance, and smooth production runs aligned to the plan.
11. Monitor stock levels in the storeroom, ensuring sufficient packaging and labelling materials are available to meet production demands.
12. Place timely orders for packaging, labels, and consumables to avoid shortages or production delays.
13. Work closely with the Technical and Maintenance teams on a daily basis to address equipment issues, planned maintenance, breakdowns and food safety in line with high-risk controls.
14. Ensure that all personnel working in the high-risk area and involved in activities impacting food safety, authenticity, legality, or quality are suitably trained and competent, understand their responsibilities and required checks, and have access to and follow current site procedures, with ongoing supervision, verification, and escalation of any non-compliance in line with the company’s food safety and quality requirements.
15. Deputise for the High Risk Manager as and when required.
