An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the IT Department as a full-time IT Apprentice, at Innovia Films, Wigton.
Innovia Films are a leading global manufacturer of Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) films, supplying highly differentiated speciality products into the packaging, labels, tobacco overwrap and securities markets.
What is this role?
We are looking for an IT Apprentice to join our team. Reporting to the IT Manager, you will offer support and technical assistance to internal stakeholders who are using software, hardware, telephony or other computer systems, in addition to troubleshooting problems through diagnostic tests
The responsibilities of the role will include:
· Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, chat or email
- Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues
- Provision deploy and maintain relevant hardware/software
- Follow standard IT procedures
- Research questions using available information resources
- Utilise Service Desk and Project Management software
- Document systems and processes
- Establish good working relationship with customers and other professionals
- Take part in relevant project tasks within the department
- Identify and purchase small items
- Interaction with external IT partners in delivering solutions
- Supporting global Innovia user base
- Monitoring helpdesk ticketing system
What skills will you need?
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to learn quickly. They will be approachable, team-oriented, and self-motivated, with a positive and proactive attitude. They must be able to manage their workload, stay calm under pressure, and adapt to changing priorities, while showing enthusiasm for learning and development.
They should be educated to A Level or NVQ level (or similar) and have a good basic knowledge to build from. This will help pick things up quickly, follow processes, and keep developing their skills as you go.
What are we offering in return?
The salary for this role will be £19,330.64.
Additionally, you will be given 25 days holiday (plus 8 statutory bank holidays) per year
