About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and organised Business Support Officer to join our team and provide essential administrative and operational support to our head-office functions.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the smooth running of the business, assisting management with daily operations, maintaining accurate records and coordinating information between clients, staff, suppliers and other business contacts.

Our business operates across bookkeeping, head-office administration, management consultancy and human resources-related services, and this role provides an opportunity to work across a range of business support activities.

Key Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to management and the wider business.
Maintain accurate company, client, employee and operational records.
Prepare correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, presentations and other business documents.
Coordinate meetings, appointments, schedules and internal communications.
Liaise professionally with clients, suppliers, employees and external business contacts.
Assist with the organisation and administration of bookkeeping and financial records where required.
Provide administrative support for HR activities, including employee records, documentation and staff-related processes.
Assist with recruitment and onboarding administration when required.
Monitor deadlines, appointments, renewals and outstanding administrative tasks.
Organise and maintain electronic and physical filing systems.
Assist management with business projects, operational planning and general office coordination.
Ensure information is communicated accurately and promptly between relevant departments and individuals.
Handle confidential business, client and employee information appropriately.
Identify routine administrative issues and escalate matters requiring management attention.
Support the implementation and maintenance of effective office procedures and systems.
Undertake other reasonable business support and administrative duties as required..

Essential Skills and Experience

Previous experience in business administration, office administration, business support or a similar role.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Confident using Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
Ability to maintain accurate records and manage confidential information.
Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
Professional and courteous approach when dealing with clients, suppliers and colleagues.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good problem-solving and administrative skills.

Desirable Experience

Experience supporting senior management or business operations.
Familiarity with basic bookkeeping or financial administration.
Experience with HR administration and maintaining employee records.

Pay: £32,000.00-£44,000.00 per year
