Overview of the Role:
Are you in the early stages of your arboricultural career and looking to develop your knowledge and skills in a role that combines hands-on tree management with the chance to shape a nationally important garden? RHS Garden Bridgewater is seeking a passionate arborist to join our dedicated team during a pivotal phase of the garden’s long-term development.
Working under the direction of the Arboricultural Team Leader, you will play an active role in the day-to-day management, maintenance, and enhancement of the garden’s remarkable treescape. Your work will directly contribute to the sustainable stewardship of our tree collection, helping ensure these iconic trees thrive for generations to come.
With several large-scale projects on the horizon, this is a unique opportunity to be involved in complex, site-wide arboricultural initiatives and make a visible impact on one of the UK’s most prestigious gardens.
We are looking for candidates who are currently working within the arboricultural industry and who are looking to take their skills to the next level within a highly regarded, professional setting. If you are passionate about trees, thrive in a hands-on environment, and are eager to contribute to the future of RHS Garden Bridgewater, we would love to hear from you.
To work for the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) is to join a thriving charity, whose mission is to inspire everyone to grow. Everything we do is built on the transformational power of gardening – and the benefits it brings to people, places, and our planet.
Known globally for our inspirational Shows and five spectacular Gardens, our work extends to leading ground-breaking climate research, running community outreach programmes, and setting the standards in horticultural education.
And we could not do this without our people. We are proud of the knowledge, enthusiasm, and ideas that each one of our team members brings. From working across our social media channels, to volunteering in the RHS Gardens, from serving customers in our garden centres to running national marketing campaigns, we believe that every member of the RHS team should have the opportunity to make a difference.
Hours: Full time (37.5 hours a week on a rota). The working pattern is 5 days in 7 so your full-time hours will include some weekend and bank holiday working.
