Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and smooth operation of the front-of-house. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop customer service skills within a vibrant and dynamic environment. The Host will be responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations, and maintaining the customer area to enhance overall guest experience.

Duties

Warmly greet guests upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements
Manage reservations efficiently, including booking, confirming, and adjusting as needed
Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, providing accurate information about services and availability
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the venue area to create an inviting environment
Coordinate with team members to ensure timely service delivery and guest satisfaction
Handle guest enquiries courteously, providing exceptional customer service at all times
Assist in managing waiting lists during busy periods and communicate wait times effectively
Support event or special occasion preparations as required

Skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly demeanour
Strong organisational abilities to manage reservations and guest flow effectively
Ability to remain calm under pressure during busy periods
Professional appearance and positive attitude at all times
Basic computer literacy for reservation systems and communication tools
Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is advantageous but not essential
Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
