Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior SketchUp Technical Designer to join our expanding technical team.
The Role
Working closely with our Creative, Client Services and Production teams, you will be responsible for transforming design concepts into fully detailed technical information suitable for manufacture and installation.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical ability, attention to detail and a practical understanding of joinery, metalwork and exhibition construction methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed 3D models and technical drawings using SketchUp and Layout.
- Develop creative concepts into practical, buildable solutions.
- Prepare comprehensive manufacturing and construction drawing packs.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Production and Procurement teams.
- Specify materials, finishes and construction methods.
- Produce detailed plans, elevations, sections and installation information.
- Support value engineering and cost-efficient design solutions.
- Assist with site surveys and design development where required.
- Ensure drawings are accurate and issued in accordance with project programmes.
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- Strong knowledge of SketchUp and Layout.
- Experience producing technical drawing packages.
- Understanding of joinery and manufacturing techniques.
- Ability to interpret design briefs and creative concepts.
- Good understanding of materials and finishes.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Desirable
- Experience within exhibitions, retail interiors or commercial fit-out.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite.
- Understanding of CNC manufacturing and production processes.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Experience using SolidWorks and an understanding of parametric modelling would be advantageous but is not essential.
