An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent position in the Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) and the brand new Acute Medical Recieving Unit at Macclesfield District General Hospital. We are inviting applications for Band 5 Nurses who are newly qualified or experienced Nurses who are seeking to expand their knowledge and skills within the Medical Assessment Unit.

The Medical Assessment Unit is a busy, thriving department but rewarding where you will surrounded by friendly and supportive colleagues in an environment that encourages new ideas, innovation and personal development.

The Medical Assessment Unit is a 28 bedded area with a new Acute Medical Reciving Unit opening later this year.

The post holder will deliver high-quality, patient-centred nursing care in a fast-paced environment, supporting the early recognition and management of acute illness. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, the Staff Nurse will play a key role in patient flow, safety, and the delivery of effective and efficient care in line with national standards and Trust policies.

Hours per week: 37.5 (part time hours also considered)

The role of a Staff Nurse is to support in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of high quality nursing care. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the staff nurse will ensure patients receive the highest level of care, delivered using a holistic, patient-focused approach, while ensuring high standards of documentation are maintained.

Deliver high-quality, safe, and compassionate nursing care in accordance with professional standards, policies, and evidence-based practice.

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised patient care plans to meet physical, psychological, and social needs.

Monitor, record, and report patient condition, recognising and responding appropriately to signs of deterioration.

Administer medications safely and in line with NMC guidelines , local policies, and patient prescriptions.

Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation .

Work effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.

Support and supervise healthcare assistants, students, and junior staff , acting as a positive role model.
