Job Overview

We are a small construction consultancy providing Cost Management, Contract Administration, Project Management and other key services.

We work predominantly in the private high end residential and hospitality market.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to develop practical experience across a range of construction projects while working alongside experienced professionals.

The successful candidate will support cost management, procurement, contract administration, and financial reporting activities to help ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
Support the measurement and valuation of construction works.
Assist with cost reporting and financial forecasting.
Monitor project costs and identify potential variances.
Support contract administration and compliance with contractual obligations.
Attend site visits and project meetings as required.
Prepare interim valuations and final accounts.
Maintain accurate project and commercial records.
Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors.

Experience

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related construction discipline
Basic understanding of construction contracts and cost management principles
Full UK driving licence (if site travel is required)
Proficiency in industry-standard software such as CostX, Bluebeam, or similar programmes.
Demonstrable knowledge of current building regulations, legal requirements, and best practices in cost management.
Effective communication skills with the ability to negotiate confidently with diverse stakeholders. Candidates should possess a recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management, along with relevant professional memberships (e.g., RICS). A proactive approach combined with attention to detail will be essential for success in this role.
