Full job description

Local Village Network (LVN) is a charity committed to ensuring that all young people have access to positive networks and opportunities, regardless of background. We connect schools, young people, and corporate partners to create meaningful mentoring, volunteering, and career experiences.

We are looking for a highly organised, proactive, and people-focused Programme Manager to join our small but passionate team. This is a pivotal role supporting both our corporate volunteers and school partners, ensuring smooth delivery of our programmes and helping us scale our impact. Through this role you will get to know every aspect of the charity and be able to understand how a small charity works.

Key Responsibilities

Volunteer Coordination & Support

Act as the first point of contact for volunteers, ensuring excellent communication and professional support.
Deliver inductions and PowerPoint presentations to corporate partners, inspiring staff to get involved.
Brief volunteers on the specifics of each programme.
Organise and schedule school trips to corporate offices (12 every six weeks), ensuring all logistics run smoothly.
Support volunteers by managing last-minute schedule changes and ensuring they have up to-date timings and materials.
Ensure all volunteers complete safeguarding training and DBS checks where required.
Build strong relationships with corporate partners, including liaising with Marketing department to ensure our programmes are posted on their socials and promoted internally.
Represent LVN professionally in meetings with external stakeholders.
Send out Thank you emails and Impact Reports

Facilitators support

Put together facilitators schedule for each half term.
Communicate schedule with facilitators and volunteers
Check in each week with facilitators to ensure they have everything they need and get feedback from them.
Support facilitators by managing last-minute schedule changes and ensuring they have up-to date timings and materials.
Collect and track evaluation forms and data from facilitators, ensuring timely follow-up with schools and teachers.
To be willing to deliver our In-school mentoring programmes in case of emergencies. Training will be provided.

School & Corporate Liaison

Liaise with 21 schools each term, scheduling 12 into the programme, taking into account logistics of travel and timing.
Ensure they have received workbooks and completed the student onboarding form.

Programme Delivery & Logistics

Onboard students for programmes, including collecting email addresses, dietary requirements, and managing GDPR compliance.
Support the online mentoring coordinator to prevent scheduling clashes.
Support the online mentoring coordinator in case of absences.
Update programme materials using Canva, PowerPoint, and LVN’s bespoke technology platform.
Keep the LVN Bible (delivery documents) UpToDate and use our project management platform to ensure efficiency.

Data & Impact

Ensure timely competition of impact reports. Send to businesses.
Support the funding team with data requests, ensuring accurate reporting on student numbers, engagement, and impact.
Provide recommendations for improving systems, processes, and volunteer experiences.

Team Support

Work closely with the CEO and wider team on special projects such as events, including sending invitations and supporting on the day.
Support the head office team with day-to-day problem-solving to ensure smooth delivery of all activities.

Skills & Experience Essential

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (client-facing experience required).
Highly organised, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a small, dynamic team.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and presentation tools (PowerPoint essential; Canva desirable).
Professional, friendly, and adaptable, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Desirable

Experience with volunteer coordination, programme delivery, or school/corporate engagement.
Familiarity with project management principles.
Knowledge of data collection and impact reporting.
Understanding of GDPR and safeguarding requirements.
