Are you passionate about cooking and looking for a role that fits around your family commitments? At Cleverchefs, we offer the perfect work-life balance with a part-time, term-time-only position. You’ll work 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, allowing you to enjoy school holidays and weekends free!

Cleverchefs is a well-established and fast-growing catering company, providing freshly prepared, nutritious meals to schools and various B&I (Business and Industry) sites across Wales and Southern England. We pride ourselves on our personalised service, ensuring every site gets a customised and caring approach.

What We Offer:

Work-Life Balance: Monday to Friday, term-time only – perfect for those with family commitments, with 13 weeks off per year to enjoy school holidays.
Friendly & Supportive Environment: You’ll be part of a small, close-knit team that values collaboration and supports one another in a welcoming atmosphere.
Term-Time Working: You will work 43.6 weeks per annum, including holiday entitlement. Both your working weeks and holiday entitlement are combined into annualised pay, meaning your salary will be spread out and paid every month of the year.

About the Role: We are looking for a Chef Manager to manage the daily operations of the school kitchen. You will be responsible for preparing and serving freshly cooked meals to children and staff, ensuring that every meal is nutritious, delicious, and made with care. The role will require you to manage the kitchen budgets and place orders efficiently to ensure cost-effective purchasing and smooth operation of kitchen supplies You will also oversee health and safety, ensuring all employees work in a safe and happy environment.

School life revolves around time-tables and lunchtimes are set in stone. To ensure that we meet our client's needs, we expect punctuality and full attendance from everyone. Our kitchens are staffed by small teams who rely on and support each other. This is a term-time only role, so please note that no absence can be requested or authorised during term time.

This role is perfect for someone with at least one year of experience in a catering environment, strong organisational skills, and a passion for great food.

Key Details:

Schedule: Monday to Friday, no weekends, term-time only.
Hours: 30 hours per week
Experience Required: Minimum of 1 year as a chef or in a cooking role.
Driving Licence: Required
