Overview
Fendequip Mooring Products Ltd is looking for a reliable and detail-focused Laser Cutting Table Operator to join our production team. The role involves operating computer-controlled cutting equipment to accurately cut materials used in marine fendering and mooring products.
You will play a key part in ensuring components are produced to high quality standards, supporting efficient manufacturing and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate laser cutting tables (CNC-controlled) to cut materials including rubber and
- Load and position materials onto the cutting bed and set up jobs using machine software
- Follow job sheets, drawing and instructions from the production team
- Ensure all components are cut accurately and meet specification tolerances
- Optimise material usage to minimise waste and improve efficiency
- Carry out routine machine maintenance, blade changes, and basic fault finding
- Work closely with design and production teams to resolve cutting or file issues
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in line with workshop standards
Skills and Experience Required
- Experience operating CNC, laser or digital cutting machinery in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed instructions accurately
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control
- Basic IT skills, ideally with experience using 2D CAD or machine control software
- Practical, hands-on approach with good problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage workload and meet production deadlines
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience working with rubber, foam, polyurethane, or similar industrial materials
- Familiarity with nesting software or file preparation for digital cutting
- Experience in marine, fabrication, or industrial manufacturing environments
