Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Bakery Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about food production and baking, eager to develop their culinary skills within a professional bakery environment. The successful candidate will contribute to the preparation and presentation of high-quality baked goods, ensuring all products meet our standards of excellence and food safety regulations. This position is suitable for those with prior kitchen or restaurant experience looking to expand their expertise in a specialised setting but anyone is welcome to apply - training will be given on the spot
Duties
- Assist in the preparation and baking of a variety of baked goods, including brownies, cookies and cakes
- Support the food production process by measuring ingredients accurately and following recipes
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bakery work area in accordance with food safety standards
- Operate bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, and proofers safely and efficiently
- Ensure all products are prepared and presented to meet quality standards before display or delivery
- Assist with stock rotation, inventory checks, and replenishment of ingredients and supplies
- Support the team during busy periods by helping with additional food preparation tasks as required
Experience
- Previous experience in food production, food preparation, or cooking is desirable
- Kitchen or restaurant experience that demonstrates familiarity with food safety practices and hygiene standards
- Knowledge of baking techniques and culinary processes is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in a commercial kitchen environment
- Passion for baking and a keen interest in developing culinary skills within a bakery setting
