We are looking for a skilled and reliable Mechanic to join our team at South Winchester Golf Club and Wickham Park Golf Club. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining and servicing our fleet of greenkeeping machinery across both sites, helping to ensure our courses are presented to the highest possible standard.
This is a flexible role split between the two clubs, working 4 days per week (32 hours, excluding an unpaid break). It would suit someone who enjoys variety in their work and takes pride in keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Job Tasks / Duties
- Implement and manage a detailed preventative maintenance programme for machinery and golf carts.
- Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and general repairs on all equipment, including winter overhaul programmes in line with manufacturer recommendations.
- Ensure all equipment complies with current health and safety legislation.
- Inspect, adjust, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects in petrol and diesel-powered equipment.
- Carry out grinding and welding repairs where necessary.
- Maintain servicing schedules and accurate maintenance records, ordering parts as required within budget and company procedures.
- Assist with irrigation system maintenance where required, including repairs to leaking pipes, cable faults, faulty sprinklers, and control valve components.
- Operate a range of powered equipment used on the golf course in accordance with safety standards.
- Support general course maintenance including greens, tees, bunkers, and fairways when required.
- Assist with various course improvement projects as needed.
Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in Mechanics (or equivalent experience).
- Experience working with petrol and diesel engines (preferred).
- Ability to work independently and manage maintenance schedules effectively.
