The Development & Alumnae Department
The development and alumnae department plays a key and integral role in building an engaged community and a culture of giving at St Swithun’s.
Through our Bramston Bursary Foundation, we have a mission to offer life changing opportunities for girls in or on the edge of care, or from seriously under-resourced communities characterised by a lack of positive role models and poverty, by providing fully funded boarding places at St Swithun's School. The safety, stability and security of a boarding place, alongside a superb education, can be transformational. The ambitious goal is to offer two fully funded places each academic year. To achieve this, we need to raise a minimum £250k per annum, which, along with match funding from the school will fund 7 years education for the two students.
The School Council (governing board) is currently in the process of reviewing our next capital development - a project which will significantly improve teaching and learning key facilities at St Swithun’s. We will need philanthropic support in order to see this next project to fruition and it is anticipated that an additional £250k per annum will be required, doubling our target to half a million.
The department also manages a wide variety of communications and engagement opportunities with our network of alumnae (St Swithun’s Old Girls) of which there are 5000+ around the globe.
