Full job description

Applications are invited for the position of Assistant Greenkeeper at West Byfleet Golf Club in Surrey. The successful applicant will gain valuable golf course maintenance and construction experience at this thriving private member’s club.

Founded in 1906, West Byfleet Golf Club has invested heavily on the course recently and has just completed a five phased Course Review.

Work will continue over the coming years to bring the remaining tees and bunkers up to the standard of those constructed as part of the course review. All construction work is carried out in house, making this an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to gain invaluable experience.

The ideal candidate will have the following.

- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.

- Minimum 3 years greenkeeping experience.

The following qualifications would also be beneficial though not essential.

- Spraying certificates PA1, PA2 & PA6

- Chainsaw license CS30,31,32

The successful candidate will be paid a starting salary of £35,000, dependent on qualifications. The salary is based on a 40-hour working week, with weekend work on a rota basis.

Weekend work is paid at double the hourly rate. Club pension contributions and end of year gratuity fund are also available.
