Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate A-level Biology Teacher to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive Biology lessons to students preparing for their A-level examinations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to inspire young minds and foster a love for biological sciences within a supportive educational environment.

Duties

Prepare and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the national curriculum and examination specifications
Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to enhance student understanding and engagement
Assess student progress through regular testing, assignments, and examinations, providing constructive feedback
Organise laboratory sessions and practical activities to complement theoretical learning
Support students in their academic development, offering guidance and mentorship as needed
Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and student achievements
Collaborate with colleagues to develop departmental resources and contribute to curriculum planning
Uphold health and safety standards within the classroom and laboratory settings

Experience

Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching certification in the UK
Proven experience teaching Biology at A-level or equivalent level within a secondary education setting
Strong knowledge of biological sciences, including recent developments and examination requirements
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan lessons effectively and adapt to diverse learning needs
Effective communication skills, capable of inspiring students and engaging them in scientific inquiry
Experience in designing assessments that accurately measure student understanding and progress
Familiarity with safeguarding policies and commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: From £15.00 per hour
