About Us

Chobham & West End Surgery is a friendly and patient-focused GP practice committed to delivering high-quality care to our local community. We are seeking a motivated and reliable Phlebotomist to join our clinical team.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a safe, efficient, and compassionate phlebotomy service to our patients. You will work closely with GPs, nurses, healthcare assistants, and administrative staff to support the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Perform venepuncture procedures for patients of all ages in accordance with practice policies and procedures.
Ensure accurate patient identification and specimen labelling.
Prepare, handle, and process blood samples for transportation to the laboratory.
Maintain accurate clinical records using the practice clinical system.
Monitor and maintain stock levels of phlebotomy supplies and room stocking
Adhere to infection prevention and control policies.
Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
Provide a professional, courteous, and reassuring service to patients.
Participate in mandatory training and continuing professional development.

Person SpecificationEssential

Previous phlebotomy experience within a healthcare setting.
Recognised phlebotomy training
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Understanding of patient confidentiality and data protection requirements.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

Desirable

Experience working within General Practice or Primary Care.
Knowledge of GP clinical systems such as EMIS Web .
Basic Life Support training.
