Contract: Fixed term to cover maternity leave. 37hrs weekly. 39 weeks a year Term time only (school holidays off) = £35,344 - £39,043pa

We are looking for a unique individual, to support our Head of Care in providing the Care element of the support plans for the children who attend the school as well as attending any relevant meetings relating to the child. This will cover overseeing and supporting senior staff within:
· A Therapies’ Team
· A Health Care Team

The Royal School for the Blind, Liverpool offers educational placements to 90 children with visual impairments and moderate to severe learning disabilities and complex needs aged 2-19 years.

Qualifications:
The person appointed will ideally have a relevant qualification in management to a minimum Level 5
Safeguarding: We consider safeguarding as our highest priority and have a safeguarding culture. The Successful candidate will be subject to safer recruitment pre-employment checks including Enhanced DBS and 3 satisfactory references. References will be taken up after shortlisting but before interviews.
We are looking for is someone who has/is:
Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children. Legislation and procedures.
At least five years of experience of working with children with complex health and medical needs.
Experience of staff supervisions and appraisal systems.
Experience of working with children with special educational needs, particularly Multi Disabled Visually Impaired and sensory needs
Successful experience at leading and managing a high-performance team.
Experience of working relationship with families of children with complex medical needs.
Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams, eg community matrons, community teams and social workers.
Experience of setting up care plans.
Experience of managing a team.
