About AJ & Friends C.I.C.
At AJ & Friends C.I.C., we are proud to be “the face of change” in complex care across the North West. Rooted in lived experience, our mission is to provide a sensory-safe, trauma-informed sanctuary for Very Individual People (VIPs).
Everything we do is built on our core values of P.E.A.C.E. (Peace, Purpose, and Empathy). We structure our holistic care around five key domains: Nurture, Purpose, CBT, Structure, and Communication. If you want your daily work to be driven by compassion, human connection, and meaningful goals, you belong in our team.
The Importance of Continuity
Structure and stability are vital for children navigating complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) under regulated services. We purposefully build trusted, long-term relationships over time to reduce environmental disruption. This role guarantees a minimum of 6 hours once a week (with options for typical 2-shift patterns and optional on-call packages) to ensure our families receive calm, steady, and reliable care. Our service is built upon co-regulation, ethos "the face of change, regulate to educate" uses empathic understanding.

Highly Competitive Pay: £18.88 per hour. Paid Travel Time: Every minute of travel time between different client assignments during your shift is fully paid at your hourly rate.

Your Purpose & Responsibilities:
Deliver empathetic, rapid, and practical hands-on support to VIPs and their families across home, school, hospital, and community settings.
Guide safe transitions, including early morning school runs (from 7:30 AM), transport, evening routines, and calming preparation for bed.
Utilise trauma-informed, low-arousal, and strictly non-restrictive techniques—always recognizing behaviour as a form of communication.
Collaborate fluidly with multidisciplinary teams (therapists, education professionals, health services) to maintain a holistic support strategy.
Help families access specialist hub sessions, including therapeutic play, rebound support, and positive behaviour work.
What We Need From You:
A deeply empathetic mindset and a proven background supporting children or young people with complex SEND or high-impact behavioral needs.
