About the Role
Ysgol Bethania is seeking to appoint an exceptional, inspirational, and highly inclusive Headteacher to lead our Independent ALN Primary School in Flint .
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and ambitious leader who is committed to achieving the very best outcomes for children with additional needs. The successful candidate will bring strategic vision, strong leadership, and a deep commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and educational excellence.
Our school supports pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, and we are looking for a Headteacher who can foster a nurturing, aspirational, and high-achieving learning environment for all pupils and staff.
Qualifications Required
Applicants must hold:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS ) and NPQH ( or working towards)
- A degree-level qualification or equivalent
- Further relevant professional and/or academic study
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD)
Essential Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- A minimum of three years’ successful senior leadership and management experience within a school setting
- A proven track record of strategic leadership characterised by integrity, resilience, creativity, and clarity
- Experience of implementing, managing, and evaluating change collaboratively
- Demonstrable success in raising standards and improving teaching and learning outcomes
- Significant experience analysing and using data to improve pupil achievement
- Experience managing school funding and resources effectively
- Strong financial planning and budget management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with pupils, staff, parents, proprietors, and the wider community
Essential Knowledge
Applicants should demonstrate:
- A secure understanding of the Independent School Standards (ESTYN)
- A clear understanding of outstanding teaching and learning and how pupils learn best
- Knowledge of how to empower both pupils and staff to achieve excellence
- Experience creating and implementing whole-school accountability systems
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- A thorough understanding of statutory frameworks relating to professional duties and responsibilities within education
