About Us

Bridgewater Children's Services Limited is committed to providing high-quality residential care for children and young people. We create safe, nurturing environments where children can develop, thrive, and achieve positive outcomes. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Worker to support the management team in delivering exceptional care and maintaining high standards within our children's residential home.

The Role

As a Senior Care Worker, you will play a key role in supporting children and young people in their daily lives while providing guidance and leadership to Residential Support Workers. You will help ensure that the home operates in line with company policies, safeguarding requirements, and Ofsted regulations, promoting positive outcomes for the children in our care.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to children and young people.
Act as a positive role model and lead shifts effectively.
Support and mentor Residential Support Workers within the home.
Promote children's emotional wellbeing, education, health, and independence.
Assist in implementing and reviewing care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies.
Ensure safeguarding concerns are identified and reported in line with policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate records, daily logs, and incident reports.
Build positive relationships with children, families, social workers, local authorities, and other professionals.
Support the management team with audits, quality assurance processes, and compliance requirements.
Participate in team meetings, training, and supervision sessions.
Undertake sleep-in duties and additional responsibilities as required.

Essential Requirements

✔ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

✔ Minimum 2 years' experience working within a children's residential care setting

✔ Experience supporting children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs

✔ Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and children's residential care regulations

✔ Experience working within an Ofsted-regulated environment

✔ Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills

✔ Full UK Driving Licence

✔ Right to work in the UK

Desirable

✔ Experience in a Senior Residential Support Worker or Team Leader role

✔ Working towards or willing to undertake Level 4 or Level 5 qualification in Residential Childcare Leadership and Management

✔ Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD)

Working Pattern

This is a full-time position and will include:

Shift work
Evenings and weekends
Sleep-in duties
Bank holidays as required
Occasional travel for meetings and training
