Volmary Ltd is the UK operation of the European Volmary family of businesses. Our business is 100 years old and in total our group employees total over 1500 people, of which 180 work in our Cambridgeshire nursery.
Our Wisbech St. Mary site has 50 acres of land with 20 acres of efficient glasshouses, Polythene greenhouses, energy centres. We are focused on serving UK based growers and distributors with high quality young plants and providing high quality service levels in a friendly and professional manner.
Summary
We are seeking a Stock Management and Planning Assistant to join our dynamic team.
This role is crucial in supporting our stock management processes, stock accuracy and ensuring efficient for in-bound products, contributing to our mission of delivering high-quality plant products.
About the Procurement Assistant role
Generally, Monday to Friday, 8.00am – 4.00pm (37.5 hours per week) The role is office based among a small and friendly team
Key Tasks
· Maintaining and aligning Planning requirements against orders (both made and to be made) on the PAT system.
· Reacting to changes made within the PAT system that affect the company’s ability to deliver goods to customers.
· Communicating changes to all stakeholders with detailed analysis
· Liaising with the key PAT supplier base.
· Reconciling order confirmations with planned purchases.
· Communicating with the stock planner and the stock controller any variance to the planned purchases and effected customers.
Do you have these skills
· High attention to detail
· Ability to spot issues and offer workable solutions before it happens?
· Is disciplined self-starter who can work under minimal supervision?
· Excellent communication skills and experience of managing suppliers?
· Excellent IT skills and have knowledge of Microsoft office applications (especially Excel to an advanced level).
· Stock management and planning experience is essential,
working in horticulture would be highly desirable but is not essential. Previous experience in stock planning, supply chain, or inventory control preferred
· Experience in a fast-moving or perishable goods environment advantageous
· Relevant qualification in supply chain, business, or operations (desirable)
