We are now seeking an experienced Conveyancing Legal Assistant to join our busy Property Department and play a key role in delivering a smooth, high-quality conveyancing experience for our clients. We’re looking for a proactive and organised Conveyancing Legal Assistant who enjoys working in a fast-paced legal environment and takes pride in delivering excellent client service.
The Role
You will provide essential support to fee earners within the conveyancing team, assisting with a varied caseload of residential property transactions from instruction through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Opening and managing client files
- Conducting conflict checks and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks in accordance with compliance procedures
- Preparing legal documents and correspondence
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, and third parties
- Carrying out ID checks and Land Registry searches
- Preparing SDLT return documentation and submitting SDLT returns
- Preparing and submitting AP1 applications to HM Land Registry
- Assisting with exchange and completion processes
- Handling post-completion matters
- Maintaining accurate records and case management systems
- Providing excellent client care throughout the transaction process
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Have previous experience working within a conveyancing or residential property department
- Have knowledge of conveyancing procedures, including post-completion matters
- Be organised, proactive, and able to manage a busy workload
- Possess excellent communication and client care skills
- Have strong attention to detail
- Be confident using case management systems and Microsoft Office
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
