Cobra Engineering (UK) Ltd is a leading supplier of mechanical engineering services, fabrications, and equipment to major UK companies across the food processing, water treatment, and civil engineering industries. We operate from a purpose-built, well-equipped workshop in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.
The Role
Due to continued growth, we are seeking experienced full-time contractors for both workshop and site-based work. We are particularly interested in skilled:
- Pipe Welder/Fitters
- Mild Steel Fabricators
- Stainless Steel Fabricators
- Site Installation & Maintenance Engineers
You will be expected to work from engineering drawings, use your own initiative, and maintain a high standard of workmanship and finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabrication and fitting of stainless steel and mild steel components
- Pipework fabrication, welding, and installation
- Workshop-based manufacturing and assembly
- Site installation, maintenance, and mechanical engineering work
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Operating fabrication workshop equipment safely and effectively
- Working independently and as part of a team
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ metal fabrication experience (required)
- Ability to work from engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience with workshop fabrication equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Comfortable working in both workshop and site environments
- Experience in food industry environments, water treatment, or energy industries is advantageous
- Must live within 30 miles of Cobra Engineering (required)
- Must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom (required)
Working Pattern
- Full-time positions
- Weekday and weekend work available
- Immediate start
- Paid Weekly, Hourly Rate Negotiable
- Paid Directly by Cobra Engineering
- Must Be CIS Registered
