Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy goods vehicles. This role requires a commitment to delivering high-quality service while ensuring that all work is carried out in compliance with safety standards. Class 1 would be an advantage (but isn't essential).

Duties

Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on HGVs, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment for diagnostics and repairs.
Perform fabrication, welding, and soldering tasks as required for vehicle modifications or repairs.
Interpret schematics and technical drawings to troubleshoot issues effectively.
Carry out equipment repair and assembly tasks on various vehicle components.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs.
Assist in heavy lifting and moving of equipment as necessary.
Working in customer premises.

Experience

Proven experience as an HGV Technician or similar role within the automotive industry.
Strong electrical experience alongside mechanical knowledge is essential.
Familiarity with excavators, forklifts, and other heavy machinery is advantageous.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
A proactive approach to problem-solving with attention to detail in all tasks undertaken. If you are passionate about vehicle maintenance and possess the necessary skills, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
