Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and proactive Retail Sales Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service, assisting shoppers with their needs, and promoting our products effectively. This role offers an opportunity to develop sales skills, enhance organisational abilities, and work in a dynamic retail environment. The position is paid and suitable for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced setting and enjoy engaging with customers.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and provide assistance to enhance their shopping experience
Assist customers with product selection, offering knowledgeable advice on features and benefits
Maintain visual merchandising standards to ensure attractive product displays
Upsell products and promotions to maximise sales opportunities
Operate the cash register efficiently, handling transactions accurately and courteously
Manage stock levels by organising shelves and replenishing inventory as needed
Handle customer enquiries via phone or in person using professional phone etiquette
Organise the sales floor to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
Keep track of sales data and assist with inventory management tasks
Support team members during busy periods and contribute to achieving store targets

Experience

Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse customers
Basic maths skills for handling transactions and managing stock counts
Organisational skills to prioritise tasks efficiently and manage time effectively
Knowledge of merchandising principles and upselling techniques is a plus
Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to foster positive customer relationships
