Established in the 1960s, we specialise in the manufacture of special electro-optical tubes for university and science research applications. The Role
Are you apprentice or BTec trained with over 3 years’ experience of working in a manufacturing environment? If so, we have a great opportunity for a Turner.
The successful candidate will read and interpret engineering drawings, among other duties. Experience with XYZ Proturn machines would be an advantage, with some mechanical and materials knowledge and understanding of tools essential.
The key responsibilities of a Turner include, but are not limited to:

Maintaining equipment and taking accurate measurements.
Manual turning.
Assembling and polishing metal components.

The Person
The key skills and qualities of a Turner include:

Knowledge of industrial machining techniques.
Ability to use measuring equipment for quality control checks.
Strong manual turning skills.
Reliability, precision and attention to detail.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and to follow instructions.
Flexible approach to work hours.
Extensive knowledge of tooling, inspection techniques and machine shop best practice are essential.
