Design911 is one of the UK’s leading independent Porsche specialists, supplying Genuine, OEM, and aftermarket Porsche parts worldwide. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Purchasing Assistant with automotive parts knowledge and previous experience purchasing or sourcing vehicle parts within the automotive aftermarket, motor factor, dealership, or automotive supply chain environment.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role suited to someone who understands automotive parts, supplier relationships, stock management, and the urgency required in a busy automotive business.
Responsibilities
Raise and process purchase orders for automotive parts and components.
Source and purchase Porsche and automotive aftermarket parts from suppliers.
Liaise daily with suppliers regarding pricing, stock availability, lead times, and urgent orders.
Track and chase outstanding purchase orders and supplier deliveries.
Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, and inventory records within internal systems.
Monitor stock levels and assist with replenishment planning to ensure product availability.
Resolve invoice discrepancies, delivery shortages, and supplier issues quickly and efficiently.
Work closely with sales, warehouse, and operations teams regarding urgent customer orders and stock requirements.
Obtain supplier quotations and compare pricing, lead times, and availability.
Monitor shipping updates and maintain accurate ETA records for incoming deliveries and containers.
Support the wider purchasing and supply chain team with day-to-day operational purchasing activities.
Requirements
Essential:
Previous experience purchasing or sourcing automotive parts.
Good knowledge of automotive parts, components, or aftermarket products.
Experience working within:
Automotive aftermarket
Motor factor
Vehicle parts department
Automotive purchasing
Automotive trade supply
Experience raising purchase orders and dealing with suppliers.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and purchasing systems.
Desirable:
Experience with Porsche, German vehicle brands, or performance vehicle parts.
Knowledge of inventory, stock control, or automotive logistics.
Experience with ERP or stock management systems.
