Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Civils Operative to join our dynamic construction and infrastructure team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for executing a variety of civil engineering tasks that keep projects moving forward efficiently and safely. Your expertise will help ensure the successful completion of infrastructure developments, roadworks, and utility installations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing your technical skills and hands-on experience to make a tangible impact.

Duties

Roadwork: Excavating and reinstating roads, footways, and utility trenches.
Piping: Laying ducts, pipes, and drainage systems.
Tools: Operating hand tools and small plant equipment safely.
Site prep: Assisting with site preparation and groundwork activities.
Safety: Following health and safety procedures and maintaining a clean worksite.
Utilities: Supporting utility installation, repair, and maintenance projects.

Experience

Proven experience working as a Civils Operative or in a similar construction or civil engineering role
Hands-on experience operating excavators and other heavy machinery
Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment effectively
Knowledge of basic electrical systems relevant to civil works projects
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues quickly
Familiarity with health and safety regulations within construction environments
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently when required
