About the role
We’re looking for an HR Manager to join us at an important point in our journey following a recent divestment.
This is a hands-on operational HR leadership role where you’ll be close to the business every day—working with managers, supporting employees, and taking ownership of how HR is delivered on site.
This is a busy manufacturing environment where no two days are the same.
Things are still evolving, so you’ll need to be comfortable working in some ambiguity. Just as importantly, you’ll enjoy bringing structure, consistency and clarity to how we do things as the business continues to develop.
While this is an operational role, you’ll also be expected to step back when needed, think commercially, and help drive measurable improvements in performance through practical HR initiatives and KPIs that add real value.
You’ll be part of our Extended Leadership Team, giving HR a real voice in how the site is run and developed.
The role is initially a 12-month fixed-term contract, with a genuine possibility of becoming permanent as the business and HR function continue to evolve.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading day-to-day operational HR activity across the site
- Managing employee relations cases end-to-end
- Building strong, trusted relationships across the business
- Coaching and supporting managers to build capability
- Leading improvements and simplification of HR processes
- Supporting recruitment and onboarding activity
- Driving HR initiatives that improve performance and consistency
- Using data and KPIs to measure and improve HR impact
- Working closely with the Head of HR as part of the Extended Leadership Team
About you
We’re looking for someone practical, commercially aware and confident in a fast-paced operational environment.
You will ideally have:
- CIPD Level 7 qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Strong operational HR generalist experience
- Confidence independently managing employee relations cases
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering, pharmaceutical or similar environments (desirable)
- A practical, common-sense approach with strong judgement
- The ability to balance operational delivery with commercial thinking
- An interest in using KPIs and data to improve performance
- Strong relationship-building skills and credibility with managers and leaders
This role is best suited to someone who enjoys being close to the business and taking ownership of day-to-day operational HR delivery.
If you are primarily looking for a fully remote role or a purely strategic HR position, this role is unlikely to be the right fit.
Important note
We are not working with recruitment agencies for this vacancy. Please do not contact us regarding this role.
Why join us
This is a great opportunity to join a business where HR is close to the operation, has real influence, and where you can make a tangible difference day to day.
If you enjoy HR that is practical, commercially aware, and focused on real impact, we would love to hear from you.
