About the role as a Faculty Operations Manager
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Faculty Operations Manager to join our Lifeskills Faculty, based across Oxfordshire and Berkshire.
Working as part of the Lifeskills Faculty, which supports SEND and LLDD, Foundation Learning, Adult Learning including ESOL, and Alternative Provision, the Faculty Operations Manager will oversee and take responsibility for day-to-day faculty operations relating to student and academic matters. This includes student registration and attendance, tracking learning hours, liaising with awarding bodies and supporting funding requirements.
You will also manage staff planning and administration, including sickness and holiday planning, lesson observations, mandatory training and inductions, while ensuring compliance with Activate Learning’s internal academic management, quality and administration systems and procedures.
The Lifeskills team supports learners who face barriers to education, including learners with special educational needs, as well as those who need support with their transition back into education and/or to build their skills and knowledge in preparation for their continued educational journey.
What do you need to be successful as a Faculty Operations Manager?
As a Faculty Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in improving and streamlining administrative support within our Lifeskills Faculty. Working closely with Group Services colleagues, you will co-create processes, procedures and systems that reduce barriers, improve communication and ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
You will be confident in motivating and supporting teams to achieve high levels of performance and engagement. This will include setting clear objectives, reviewing progress, providing feedback and identifying development needs to support continuous improvement. You will be able to manage competing priorities, work collaboratively across different teams and locations, and use your initiative to identify practical solutions to operational challenges.
Experience of working in an FE environment is desirable, but not essential. We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and committed to improving the experience of both staff and learners.
