We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Art Club Instructor / Supervisor to lead a weekly after-school Art Club at a primary school in Taunton. This role provides children with the opportunity to explore a variety of artistic techniques and materials while developing creativity, confidence, and self-expression in a fun and supportive environment.
The club runs Wednesdays & Thursdays 3:30pm – 4:30pm (1 hour per week) during term time, commencing from September 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise small groups of primary-aged children in engaging, age-appropriate art activities.
- Plan and deliver enjoyable sessions that encourage creativity, experimentation, and artistic development.
- Inspire confidence, imagination, and a love of art in young learners.
- Support children in exploring different materials, techniques, and creative projects.
- Communicate effectively with school staff and, where appropriate, parents regarding children’s participation and progress.
- Ensure all materials, tools, and activity spaces are safe, organised, and ready for each session.
Experience & Skills
- Experience teaching or leading art activities for children in schools, clubs, or similar settings.
- Ability to engage and motivate young learners in a structured yet enjoyable environment.
- Strong English communication skills for working effectively with children, staff, and parents.
- A background in art, design, education, or creative subjects is desirable.
