Workstyle : You will work from a fixed workplace in a different school each day.
We are currently seeking a highly organised and financially experienced individual to join our team as a Primary School Bursar.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the School’s Senior Management Team, taking a lead role in ensuring the smooth running of operations and management of finances for your group of schools. You will be responsible for managing the operation and delivery of support services within the schools, including finance, administration, HR, and facilities. You will work closely with Headteachers and Governing Bodies to ensure that resources are aligned with school priorities.
This is a rewarding role where you will have a meaningful impact within the community, ensuring schools are safe, financially secure and well‑resourced, positively shaping the daily experiences of pupils. The role also offers a high level of variety allowing you to continuously learn, adapt and support informed decision‑making across the school.
The main duties of the post;
- Preparing, managing and monitoring school budgets
- Overseeing and tracking grant expenditure
- Oversee procurement, contracts, and resource allocation
- Manage school support staff, including recruitment
- Assisting with the management of building facilities
- Contributing to Health and Safety management
You will have experience in/of;
- Financial management,
- Leading and managing staff,
- Working in a leadership or senior role,
- Using Microsoft applications particularly Word and Excel
Ideally you will have;
- Minimum of 4 GCSE’s (Grades A-C) or equivalent including English
Language and Mathematics.
- A relevant financial/business qualification.
