Time Out Holiday Camps
Important Note: Time Out Holiday Camps, based in Horsell, Woking, operate as day holiday camps for children aged 4–13, running from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Our camps are available during all school holiday periods, including February half-term, the Easter holidays, May half-term, the summer holidays, October half-term, and the December holidays.
Role Overview
Time Out Holiday Camps is seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and inspiring Activity Instructors to lead engaging, high-quality activities for children aged 4–13 during school holidays.
This is a hands-on role for individuals who enjoy working with children, can confidently lead sessions, and take pride in creating a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment where every child feels valued and supported.
Coaches will be responsible for delivering sessions, managing groups, and upholding the highest standards of care and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Activity Delivery & Engagement
- Deliver fun, structured, age-appropriate activities (e.g. sport, games, creative arts, STEM, problem-solving, team challenges).
- Lead activities with energy, clarity, and confidence, ensuring all children are actively involved.
- Adapt activities to suit different abilities, ages, and learning styles.
- Encourage teamwork, confidence, resilience, and positive behaviour.
Child Supervision & Welfare
- Maintain high standards of behaviour management using positive, consistent strategies.
- Supervise children safely at all times, including transitions between activities.
- Build positive relationships with children, promoting inclusion and emotional wellbeing.
- Follow all safeguarding, health & safety, and risk assessment procedures.
Professional Conduct
- Act as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism, enthusiasm, and integrity.
- Work collaboratively with other instructors and senior staff.
- Communicate effectively with the Camp Manager regarding attendance, behaviour, and any concerns.
- Assist with setting up, clearing away, and maintaining activity spaces.
Essential Experience & Qualities
Required
- Experience working with children aged 4–13 (e.g. camps, schools, coaching, childcare, youth work).
- Confidence leading groups of children independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, energetic, and proactive attitude.
- A clear understanding of safeguarding and child welfare.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Desirable
- Qualifications in education, sport, childcare, youth work, or a related field.
- Coaching qualifications or specialist skills (e.g. sport, drama, art, music, science).
- First Aid certification (or willingness to complete training).
- Experience managing behaviour in group settings.
