Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in food preparation and kitchen operations, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills within a professional hospitality environment, contributing to the creation of exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

Duties

Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs, ensuring consistency and quality.
Support the kitchen team in maintaining cleanliness and organisation of workstations in accordance with food safety standards.
Prepare ingredients, garnishes, and accompaniments as required for daily service.
Follow recipes accurately and adhere to portion control guidelines.
Assist with stock rotation, inventory checks, and storage of ingredients.
Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating effectively with colleagues.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times during food production and service.
Support the supervising team in managing kitchen operations during busy periods.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a professional kitchen or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
Basic culinary skills including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
Experience in food production, restaurant service, or catering is advantageous.
Demonstrated leadership qualities or supervising experience is a plus.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
