Join us as a Mortgage Team Leader at Barclays, where you will help shape the future of banking by being responsible for leading a team of Mortgage Advisors, providing ongoing support, coaching, and development to ensure exceptional customer service. This role operates as a first-line supervisor in a regulated mortgage environment, ensuring compliance, meeting regulatory deadlines, and delivering business performance across all areas of the balanced scorecard. Success in the role depends on being a technical expert in mortgage advice, able to lead advisors effectively, drive frontline change, manage delivery, and lead confidently through transformation within an emerging regulated context.
This role would require travel across London and the wider South Region, within branch and corporate offices as a requirement.
To be successful as a Mortgage Team Leader , you should have experience with:
- Confidence in presenting to internal and external stakeholders, with excellent communication skills.
- Good analytical abilities with the capability to interpret data.
- Proven leadership experience with a history of managing teams.
- Ability to build and maintain good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- CEMAP qualification.
- Previous coaching experience.
- Performance management experience.

Purpose of the role
To manage regulated activity and set the strategic direction. Provide support to the bank's senior management team, and to manage regulated risk across the organisation.
Accountabilities
- Development of strategic direction for regulated activities, including the implementation of up to date methodologies and processes.
- Management of regulated activities, including oversight of colleagues and their performance, implementation of departmental goals and objectives, oversight of Business Area efficiency and effectiveness.
- Relationship management of regulated stakeholders, including identifying relevant stakeholders, and maintenance of the quality of third party services.
- Development and implementation of policies and procedures for regulated activities.
- Management of risk, including identification of potential risks, development of strategies to mitigate those risks, and maintenance of alignment between the bank’s regulated activities and compliance functions.
- Monitoring the financial performance of regulated activities, including Growth, Quality and cost control.
- Conducting thorough market research to understand market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to identify market opportunities.
