South East Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association (SERFCA) supports the Reserve Forces and Cadets from the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force in the South East. The majority of the Association comprises volunteers ranging from high-ranking serving and retired military Officers, through local Councillors to enthusiastic locals. Working with SERFCA offers a fantastic opportunity to engage with your local community and make a difference to the lives of young people.

Applications are invited for a part-time Administrative Officer in the Finance Department. The successful applicant would become one of two people who assist the Deputy Head of Finance with the routine administrative needs of the department in addition to providing holiday cover for the Deputy Head of Finance. The post is based in person at SERFCA, Seely House, Shoe Lane, Aldershot, GU11 2HJ and would be 18.5 hours a week over Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. Detailed job description follows:

General Description.

The Administrative Officers’ main duties lie within the Finance department. They will be required to cover for the Deputy Head of Finance during periods of holiday and sickness. Training, where appropriate, will be given.

Assisting the Deputy Head of Finance as required in the following;

Core Responsibilities.

· Daily printing bank statements to action income/outgoings.

· Letting income/expenditure control maintenance via Excel spreadsheet.

· Weekly supplier payment run preparation.

· Entering purchase/procurement invoices into database.

· Continuing efficient filing and archiving of documents.

Additional/Adhoc Responsibilities.

· Payment of cheques into the bank.

· Dealing with queries from clients and suppliers.

· Monthly preparation and communication of card statements to card holders.

· Weekly check of petty cash.

· General clerical work.

Pay: £13,933.00 per year
