Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components, primarily using MIG & TIG welding techniques, to produce high-quality products. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in sheet metal work, assembly, and the use of various hand and power tools. The ideal applicant will demonstrate precision, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of fabrication processes.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG & TIG welding and other welding techniques on various metals to produce sheet metal components.
- Fabricate parts according to engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively during fabrication processes.
- Read and interpret technical drawings to guide assembly and fabrication tasks.
- Assist in the assembly of fabricated components into finished products or structures.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to safety standards at all times.
- Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and improve fabrication efficiency.
Skills
- Proficiency in MIG & TIG welding and experience with welding various materials, including mild steel and aluminium.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, including sheet metal work and assembly.
- Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Basic mathematical skills for any adjustments during fabrication.
- Experience working with sheet metal materials in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure high-quality output.
This position is permanent, monthly paid and for those eager to develop their skills further, you can expect to receive support and any ongoing training required. The role is working a straight day shift - 07:30 - 16:00 Monday to Thursday and 07:30 - 13:00 Fridays.
