We are a premium, independent startup clothing label merging the raw grit of Birmingham’s industrial subcultures with high-end, sustainable "darkwear" aesthetics. We don't do mass production. We do one-of-one, artisanal, upcycled garments, breathing new life into vintage denim, heavy cotton shirts, and chore jackets.
We’ve recently secured startup funding, hit the runway at our first local showcase, and are building a brand destined for the DTC market. Now, we need a technical partner to help us with production.
The Opportunity
- This isn't a boring, repetitive factory line job. You will be working directly with the founder in Solihull, acting as the technical hands behind our upcoming collections.
- This is a highly flexible, part-time, work from home role perfect for a talented graduate, a final year fashion student, or an established freelancer who wants to align themselves with a forward-thinking sustainable brand.
- If you are fast, precise, and want to see your technical skills featured in lookbooks, fashion films, and retail showcases, this is it.
Responsibilities
- Upcycling & Reconstruction: Precision sewing of heavy duty patches onto vintage denim jeans, shirts and jackets.
- Branding & Detailing: Clean, accurate application of brand labels, heavy duty webbing, and hardware.
- Quality Control: Performing strict quality checks on finished production pieces to ensure they meet commercial, boutique-level standards.
- Batch Delivery: Keeping to agreed turnaround times for batches dropped off and collected by the founder.
Requirements (Non-Negotiables)
Because we work with heavy duty fabrics (denim, heavy canvas, workwear), domestic sewing machines will likely not cut it.
The Gear: You must own and operate an Industrial Lockstitch in your home studio space. A walking foot machine is a massive bonus. (4-thread Overlocker useful but not essential).
The Skill: High quality topstitching, clean tension on thick fabric junctions, and an eye for straight lines.
The Location: Fully home based, but you must live in or very close to Solihull / Shirley for regular fabric drop-offs and garment collections.
The Mindset: Ability to work independently from tech packs/samples and translate instructions into fast, commercial grade construction.
The Pay & Structure
We believe in fair pay for skilled labour.
We will mutually agree upon during a paid sample run.
Completely flexible hours work whenever suits you, as long as production deadlines are met.
