Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and have experience in conducting thorough vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. This role is essential in maintaining the highest standards of vehicle safety and performance.

Duties

Conduct MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring adherence to legal requirements and safety standards.
Perform detailed inspections of vehicle components, including brakes, lights, steering, and suspension systems.
Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs or adjustments as necessary.
Document test results accurately and provide clear feedback to customers regarding any issues identified during the inspection.
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring that all tools and equipment are stored properly after use.
Assist in heavy lifting tasks when required, particularly when handling larger vehicles or components.
Stay updated with current legislation and best practices related to vehicle testing and maintenance.

Experience

Proven mechanical knowledge is essential for success in this role.
Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in automotive repair is highly desirable.
Experience in heavy lifting tasks, particularly within an automotive or engineering environment, is advantageous.
Previous experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar role will be beneficial but not mandatory; training may be provided for the right candidate.
