Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Forklift Driver and Warehouse Operative to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing materials handling, operating forklifts safely, and supporting warehouse operations to ensure smooth and timely shipping and receiving processes. Duties
- Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load, unload, and transport goods within the warehouse.
- Assist with materials handling tasks, including stacking, organising, and storing stock items.
- Support shipping and receiving activities by preparing goods for dispatch or receipt.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements using the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Conduct basic equipment repairs or report faults promptly to ensure operational safety.
- Perform manual handling tasks, including heavy lifting, in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
- Assist in organising stock locations and ensuring the warehouse remains clean and organised.
- Support other warehouse functions as required, including order picking and packing.
Experience
- Proven experience operating forklifts within a warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with equipment repair is desirable.
- Prior experience in materials handling, shipping & receiving, or related roles preferred.
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations related to heavy lifting and equipment operation.
- Basic math skills for inventory counts and measurements.
