Are you an enthusiastic IAPT Neurodevelopmental Practitioner looking to join a supportive and developing service within CAMHS Gateway and community CAMHS teams. You will have completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Learning Disability and Autism.
In Dorset, we are transforming our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services into a Family Mental Health model that embraces and adopts the THRIVE framework . This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to service development and innovation, supporting a whole-family approach grounded in compassion, collaboration and shared decision-making.
You will work closely within a multidisciplinary team and with partner agencies to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to children and young people with neurodevelopmental needs. You will hold a caseload of children and young people on the ADHD and ASC pathways, providing regular review, care coordination and liaison with families, schools and partner agencies. You will provide post-diagnostic advice, guidance and support to children, young people and their parents/carers to promote understanding and effective management of needs.
This is a full-time post; we would consider part-time hours with a minimum of 30 hours, and flexible working may be considered. This is a pan-Dorset post, with a temporary base during the transitional phase, and may require flexible working as the service develops to ensure responsive care. The ability to travel across Dorset is essential.
You will assess, formulate and deliver high-quality, evidence-based interventions for children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders, including ASC and ADHD. This will include consideration of associated presentations such as anxiety, low mood, attachment and social difficulties, ensuring interventions are tailored to individual needs.
The role involves working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and across agencies including education, social care, health and the voluntary sector. You will contribute to multi-agency meetings and integrated care planning, undertake risk assessments, and implement risk management plans in line with Trust safeguarding policies.
You will deliver interventions in a range of settings including clinics, community venues, schools and family homes as appropriate. The post holder will contribute to service development, audit, outcome monitoring and participation activity aligned with the THRIVE framework, maintain accurate clinical records, and engage in regular supervision, appraisal and continuing professional development.
