Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Roadside Technician to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing prompt roadside assistance, recovery services, and transportation of vehicles. This role requires excellent driving skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work under pressure in various conditions. The ideal applicant will have previous experience in driving and basic mechanical knowledge. Along with strong communication skills and familiarity with Recovery of vehicles.

The job does include working shifts on a 4 on 2 off basis to include days and nights. If you can't commit to these hours then please don't apply.

Duties

Respond swiftly to roadside assistance calls to recover and transport vehicles in need of assistance.
Operate commercial vehicles, including spec lifts and flatbed lorries, ensuring safe and efficient vehicle handling.
Conduct basic mechanical checks and troubleshooting on vehicles roadside to assess repair needs.
Safely load and secure vehicles onto recovery trucks using appropriate equipment.
Maintain accurate records of recoveries, vehicle conditions, and delivery documentation.
Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and clients regarding recovery status and estimated arrival times.
Adhere to all safety protocols and traffic regulations during operations.
Assist with warehouse duties when not engaged in roadside recovery tasks, including vehicle movement and inventory management.

Qualifications

Valid driver’s licence and CPC.
Proven experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver, preferably involving vehicle recovery or flatbed transport.
Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for assessing vehicle conditions during recoveries.
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients.
Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting and securing vehicles on flatbeds.
Knowledge of traffic laws and safety standards relevant to roadside recovery operations. This role offers an opportunity to work within a professional team dedicated to providing exceptional roadside assistance services while developing your skills in vehicle recovery and transportation logistics.
