Senior Greenkeeper
Hours: Full time 40 hours, annualised. 1 in 3 weekends
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000
Overtime and time in lieu available
Stourbridge Golf Club is recognised as being one of the best presented golf courses in the Midlands with excellent attention to detail and true firm greens.
We are looking to recruit an Assistant Greenkeeper to join our dedicated team by offering a fantastic opportunity to improve their career and personal development.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Course Manager and be fully involved in the everyday maintenance and course set-up to the highest standards and will need to demonstrate sound machinery background including health and safety awareness.
The position offered is a full-time annualised 40 hour working week, with a weekend rota of 1 in 3
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the day-to-day management of SGC
- Supervise and lead the greenkeeping team alongside DGK to deliver high standards of course presentation and maintenance in the absence of HGK.
- Conduct regular inspections of the golf course, grounds, and irrigation systems
- Support in the delivery of essential maintenance work, including aeration, top dressing, and course renovations.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment for the team
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong knowledge of turf management and maintenance equipment.
- Effective treatment for turf disease and seasonal stresses.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and engage with a team effectively
- Knowledge of health and safety practices within the greenkeeping industry.
- A valid pesticide application certificate (PA1 PA2, PA6) and relevant greenkeeping qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3) are highly desirable
- Chainsaw qualification desirable not essential.
