Job Summary - (Monday to Friday - 14:00 to 16 :00hrs)
We are seeking a compassionate and organised Activities Coordinator to join our team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for residents in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with elderly individuals, particularly those requiring assisted living, nursing home care, or specialised dementia and Alzheimer's care. This role involves planning, coordinating, and delivering a variety of recreational programmes aimed at enhancing residents' quality of life and fostering social interaction. The Activities Coordinator will play a vital role in creating a warm, inclusive environment that promotes well-being and happiness among residents.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement diverse activity programmes tailored to residents’ interests, abilities, and care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's-specific activities.
- Organise daily, weekly, and special event activities that promote socialisation, mental stimulation, physical activity, and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with care staff to assess residents' individual preferences and capabilities to ensure activities are appropriate and engaging.
- Facilitate group activities such as arts and crafts, music sessions, games, outings, and reminiscence therapy.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities and monitor their response to different programmes.
- Encourage resident involvement by fostering a positive environment that promotes independence and dignity.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure activities meet individual needs and preferences.
- Stay informed about best practices in senior care, dementia care, and caregiving techniques to continually enhance activity offerings.
- Part-time job . Mon to Fri ( 14:00 hrs to 16:00hrs), max 10 hours per week
Pay: £12.71-£12.75 per hour
