Location: Stourbridge
Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 per year
Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (Term time only)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Blackwater Academy is an alternative provision school established in 2015, with sites in Stechford, Sandwell, and Stourbridge.

The Role

We are seeking a passionate English Teacher to join our supportive and collaborative team. You will teach up to GCSE level and may occasionally cover other subjects where required. We offer small supportive learning groups designed to meet individual needs and re-engage learners.

This role is ideal for someone who is flexible, innovative, and committed to making a real difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities

Teach students aged 11–16 across a range of abilities
Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum
Assess, record, and report on student progress
Communicate effectively with parents/carers
Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement
Contribute to curriculum planning and enrichment activities (e.g. trips)
Participate in staff meetings and school duties

What We’re Looking For

Strong subject knowledge in English
Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
Effective classroom management skills
A supportive, non-judgmental, and flexible approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to helping every student succeed

Teaching qualification is desirable but not essential.
