Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organised Shop Assistant to join our retail team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, supporting merchandising efforts, and ensuring the smooth operation of the shop floor. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be multilingual if possible, and demonstrate a proactive attitude towards sales and organisation. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop retail experience within a dynamic environment.

Duties

Greeting customers warmly and assisting with their enquiries in a professional manner
Supporting merchandising activities by arranging products attractively and restocking counters as needed
Upselling products to maximise sales opportunities while maintaining excellent customer service standards
Managing transactions efficiently using the point-of-sale system, including handling cash and card payments
Maintaining a clean and organised shop environment, ensuring displays are tidy and appealing
Handling phone enquiries with courtesy and professionalism, adhering to proper phone etiquette
Assisting with stock organisation, inventory checks, and replenishment tasks
Managing time effectively to ensure all duties are completed within shift hours

Skills

Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Excellent communication skills for engaging with customers and team members
Good time management to ensure efficient completion of daily responsibilities
Organisational skills for maintaining neat displays and stock levels
Phone etiquette for professional customer interactions over the phone or via messaging platforms
Experience or knowledge of merchandising principles is desirable but not essential; training will be provided where necessary
