Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fence Erector to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of fencing across diverse sites. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in fence erecting, steel working, ground working or general construction to utilise their skills in a dynamic environment. The position involves working outdoors in all weather conditions and requires a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Measure and mark out fencing lines according to project specifications
- Prepare the site by clearing debris and ensuring the ground is suitable for installation
- Erect fencing panels, posts, and gates using appropriate tools and techniques
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently during installation
- Ensure all fencing is level, secure, and compliant with safety standards
- Assist with site setup and clean-up after project completion
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in fence erecting, steel working, ground working or general construction is desirable
- Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, fabrication techniques, and safety procedures
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and perform manual labour
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Relevant experience in welding is preferred but not essential
- Valid UK driving licence is mandatory
- Valid UK CSCS accreditation preferred
