Main Duties & Responsibilities:
The Assistant Pastor will be working with The New Life in Christ Ministry, The Lord's Parish in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire to fulfil the Mission’s charitable objective of advancing the Christian Faith. The church intends to extend the duties of the Head Pastor within her ministries in evangelism, discipleship training and social outreach services. In order to meet the needs of the pastoral ministry, the church has resolved to recruit a suitable Minister of Religion / Assistant Pastor to serve primarily in the church in Mansfield assisting the senior pastor in delivering the ministry’s assignment within and outside the United Kingdom.
Functions and Authority:
The Assistant Pastor shall steer the Church to holistic growth by providing sound Theology and Biblical teachings in accordance with the vision of The New Life in Christ Ministry and the reformed theology, governance, and tradition.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
The Assistant Pastor (Minister of Religion) shall perform spiritual functions associated with beliefs and practices of The New Life in Christ Ministry, The Lord’s parish, and provide motivation, guidance and training in religious life for the members and the wider community. The applicant should agree with Christian Doctrines and traditions and works well with a senior pastor. Previous full time pastoral or evangelism experience is required.
Others includes:
· Preaching and Teaching.
· Provide Pastoral Care; through visitations, Counselling and Prayers.
· Solemnize Marriages.
· Conduct funeral services and burials.
· Conduct baby dedications.
· Conduct baptisms.
· Organize and administer Holy Communion.
· Evangelism, Outreach and External invitation programs.
· Train and provide Leadership in all Church Ministries and governing bodies of The New Life in Christ Ministry.
Skills Required:
- Must be Born again and filled with the Holy Spirit
- Must have the fruits mentioned in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:7-9
- Must have organization, self-motivation, good written/verbal communication skills; team Player, compassion
- Spiritual gifts: Administration, leadership, teaching
- Must have experience deliverance ministry
- Have some training or skills in IT, including instruments.
- The Person must subscribe to the tenets of Faith of The New Life in Christ Ministry, the Lord’s Parish, Mansfield
- Ability to speak Yoruba will be added advantage.
- Must be willing to undertake missionary work and travels within UK and overseas
Experience Required:
· Must have minimum 2 or more experience in church ministry and Evangelism (experience in the UK will be an added advantage)
· Previous Pastoral Experience is essential with thorough understanding of deliverance ministration
Qualification Required:
The ideal candidate must;
- Be an Ordained Christian Minister of Religion
- Must be a graduate and trained in Biblical Theology to Diploma or ordained by a recognized Pentecostal Ministry.
- Any other academic and skill-based qualifications with demonstrated experience, gained from relevant employment or practice, is an added advantage.
Essential Experience and Abilities:
- Committed Christian with a call from God to the Ordained Ministry, and desire to serve with The New Life in Christ Ministry.
- Excellent ability to work under pressure, to deadlines and with changing priorities.
- Knowledge, understanding and commitment to the Pentecostal Structures and statement of faith.
- Having strong knowledge and ability to speaking, reading, and writing in English and Yoruba language will be an addition, as we have a special program in Yoruba language with English interpretation.
- Ability to work within and maintain professional boundaries when working with people and institutions.
- Understanding, knowledgeable and integrity in handling confidential and sensitive information of members and the institution of The New Life in Christ Ministry.
- Commitment and ability to work with people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds without compromising the The New Life in Christ Ministry vision and the Christian creed.
- Commitment to work in an anti-discriminatory way.
- Ability to manage time effectively, working smart and independently and within a team to achieve the The New Life in Christ Ministry goals.
- Creative and adaptable in preparation and delivery of sermons to the congregation and training of the leaders in diverse biblical topics.
- Ability to work with people of all ages, race and gender displaying good counselling skills, people management skills, team building and motivational skills.
Salary: £20,000 per annum
Hours: 30 hours per week
Post Holder will require to undergo criminal check i.e. enhanced DBS
